Abstract: | This diploma thesis attends to a late gothic sculpted crown in the St. Anna church in Regensburg Großprüfening. It is part of an ensemble of three carved altars which was dismantled, restored and returned to the church without the figurative decor in the 1960s. Remains of the composure reside upon this object, reflecting the former consistent asset. The analysis of the composure forms the groundwork for a conservation and restoration concept which is developed in terms of a return to the church. The restoration is to be performed by means of a pivot sample. Concluding, the author thinks about a unitary restoration plan for the ensemble as well as suggestions for preventive measures in situ. |
